About Trio Voilà
Trio Voilà is a rare, mixed ensemble comprised of the flute, viola and guitar. Offering a unique musical experience this combination of instruments has a long tradition with original music from the 19th and 20th centuries, along with new, ground-breaking and exciting music by contemporary composers.

By nature, the tone creation of a wind, bowed and plucked instrument is very different, producing sound colors which can not be created by traditional wind or string ensembles. Trio Voilà is, to our knowledge, the only one of its kind in Florida and one of a handful in the US. Using some period instruments, Trio Voilà places the highest artistic demand on their work and performance.

Trio Voilà' bios

Jane Hoffman was a faculty member at Humboldt State University in California for eight years. She has traveled abroad to study in Nice, France and performed in Mallorca, Spain. Jane has performed in the Miller Theatre at Columbia University in Manhattan with the Contemporary Chamber Players and was a fellow in the Sarasota Music Festival in 1993. Jane has earned a Masters Degree from Cal State Northridge 1984 and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree SUNY Stony Brook 1995.

Thomas Koch graduated in classical guitar performance from the Hochschule für Musik Köln and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover, both in his native country of Germany. Thomas performed solo recitals among other places at Carnegie Recital Hall in New York City, the German Embassy Auditorium in Washington DC, Eglise Saint-Merri in Paris and Kulturhaus Mitte in Berlin. He performed as soloist with the Port Charlotte Symphony, the Venice Symphony Orchestra, as well as with the Anna Maria Community Orchestra. Thomas is on the artist faculty at the Sarasota Performing Arts Center at Booker High School.

Laura Jensen-Jennings is currently principal second violinist with the Florida West Coast Symphony. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from Florida State University in viola performance, cum laude, and her Master of Music in viola performance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. A graduate of the Florida West Coast Symphony Youth Program, she first played in the violin section of the Florida West Coast Symphony in 1982.
